Perfect for an Icelandic glacier
Einar Einarsson is the King of Langjokull Glacier in western Iceland.
A long-term location scout, Einar has worked with Christopher Nolan on
Interstellar and a whole slew of movies from Star Wars 8 to The Secret Life of
Walter Mitty and The Lord of the Rings.
Iceland’s landscape is perfectly suited to movie making - you could film Mars,
Middle Earth and Star Wars planet Crait all in a single day, such is the
extraordinary drama and variety.
With his specially adapted Ford truck and 46 inch tyres, Einar can get pretty
much anywhere – including the top of the Langjokull where the ice is 200m thick.
Even in summer the wind blows at 40kts in August and the ground temperature
barely creeps above zero.
Einar wears the new Shackleton superlight Summit jacket, coming soon.
